Elon Musk Establishes New Artificial Intelligence Company

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter and the biggest DOGE holder, is establishing a new Artificial intelligence (AI) company known as X.AI Corp. According to a government filing from the previous month, the new firm is registered in Nevada and includes Elon Musk as the company’s only director alongside Jared Birchall, one of Musk’s close associates, as its secretary. The AI will be in direct competition with OpenAI.

Musk’s Opposition to Artificial Intelligence

Musk has voiced his opposition to artificial intelligence but recently suggested a different course of action, tweeting “What we need is TruthGPT”. This was after ChatGPT’s explosive growth in popularity and he pushed for the oversight of this technology. Additionally, he signed an open letter released by the Future of Life Institute urging tech executives to halt Open AI advancements for six months.

X – An Everything App?

In February 2021 Musk tweeted that what they needed was “X – an everything app” and changed his company name from Twitter to X Corp., which might suggest his plan for X.AI Corp.. It remains unclear however what exactly he has in mind for this endeavor or whether he wants to create a genuine ChatGPT opponent or something else entirely.

The Team Behind X.AI

Musk reportedly brought onto the team scientist Igor Babuschkin and two other former DeepMind colleagues in March to take charge of the new endeavor; providing more evidence that something big could be brewing behind closed doors at Tesla HQ soon enough!
